A native of Washington, D.C., Katharine Moore was educated at Mount Vernon College in Washington
and worked in international programming before relocating to Columbus
in 1995. Katharine was the Director of Programs and Protocol for the World on Philanthropy, providing programs for donors
and non government organizations (NGOs) from 71 countries. She then served as
the Director of Programs of the International Women’s Media Foundation. She has coordinated education programs in Russia,
Chile, Costa Rica, Poland, Kenya, Zimbabwe, South Africa, the Czech Republic for journalists,
and produced the Courage in Journalism Awards programs in New York, Washington, D,C, and Los Angles for five years,
recognizing outstanding women journalists from around the world.
Currently Katharine serves
at the Executive Director of the German Village Society and the Jefferson
Center for Learning and the Arts. She is an active volunteer with the
Columbus Metropolitan Library, as a Trustee of the Friends of the Library and the Chairwoman of the 2007 Centennial Community
Celebration of the Carnegie Library.
